What LCCA Volunteers Do

The Lancaster County Children’s Alliance is the “Place to Start Healing” and their volunteers are a huge part of that effort. When you volunteer to become a “Greeter” for the LCCA, you are often the first face presented to the children and families entering their facility to start the healing process.

Volunteers are always encouraged to engage with the children by playing games, reading books, and doing other fun things that help make the visit as positive as possible for the child and family.

You Will:

  • Greet/escort children and families to the appropriate area of the building where all services will be performed in a private and inviting setting.

  • Select an age-appropriate table of toys, games, and books to roll into the hub to help entertain the child during the waiting process.

  • Remain with children and families throughout their appointment so the child is never left alone without supervision.

  • Provide supervision of children, so families can meet with their team of experts to ask questions and to learn about their next steps.

  • Escort children and adults to the bathroom.

  • Set up the meeting rooms.

  • Help with light administrative tasks.

  • Help with any other daily tasks.

Join us in making a difference for each child and family here at the Lancaster County Children’s Alliance!
